A San Diego man was sentenced Friday for his role in the death of a homeless woman. On May 7, 2023, 19-year-old Ryan Hopkins and his friend William Innes went “hobo hunting” and found 68-year-old Annette Persha. They shot her with a pellet gun while she slept, killing her. Officers found Pershal unconscious the next morning wounded by six to eight shots from a pellet gun.
Hopkins pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting assault with a deadly weapon, resulting in a suspended three-year prison term.
Innes has been charged with first-degree murder and remains in custody without bail, awaiting trial.
