Boulder resident Marius Suffian says the number one thing that would make him feel safe when he goes outside is knowing his attacker is back behind bars. On Sept. 23 of this year, Suffian was beaten with a stick in an unprovoked attack that put him in the hospital. Boulder police arrested 43-year-old homeless man Derek Jorda and charged him with first-degree assault and first-degree assault of an at-risk adult. Jorda is no stranger to law enforcement having an extensive criminal history going back 20 years and is now out on bond.
