Police say a homeless man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a Garden Grove apartment and beating an 87-year-old resident to death. The suspect, 26-year-old Mario Brancato, somehow made his way into the home of Chuong Pham. Pham’s son noticed the stranger in his father’s home through a Ring camera and rushed there to find his dad lying in a pool of blood with his hands tied with an electrical cord.
Brancato Brancato was charged with murder with special circumstances of murder during a robbery as well as robbery and attempted robbery with a sentencing enhancement for attempted premeditated murder, according to court records.
