Shortly after a fire broke out at a homeless encampment on 16th and Sherman, the city of Denver served them a notice to vacate.   This decision differs from that of another encampment that was swept near the Governor’s Mansion.  The residents in that encampment were offered and accepted housing.  The mayor has previously said the offer of housing had nothing to do with the camp’s location being so close to the Governor’s Mansion, but the latest sweeps that are scheduled to take place do not prove that point to many of his critics.
