Hollywood residents living near an encampment on Poinsettia Place feel like they have been abanded by city leaders.  Their cries for help have gone unheard as homeless people living in an encampnent nearby are wreaking havoc on their community.  Their have been reports of drugs use, acts of violence, prostitution, and numerous other crimes.  Residents say their calls for help have fallen on deaf ears as lawlessness associated with the encampment goes unchecked.

A decision handed down by the Ninth Circuit Court requires that people experiencing homeless be offered shelter before they are asked to move.  This makes it almost impossible to deal with the problems going on with this encampment.
