Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s plan to house 1000 homeless people by year’s end is rapidly moving forward.  He has moved over 200 people into transitional housing and now plans to identify 500 permanent housing options through the use of vouchers as part of a new partnership with the state, Denver Housing Authority, and Salvation Army.  The city will contract with Seattle-based Housing Connector, a tech-focused nonprofit that works with property owners and management companies to identify available units that could be used with the vouchers.
