83 homeless people from an encampment, are now safe in their own hotel room or micro-community. The city offered the people living in the homeless encampment housing and everyone accepted. If they remain in their current housing for at least 14 days, they’ll be added to Denver’s countdown to 1,000 homeless people housed by the end of the year. While some give a lot of credit to Denver Mayor Mike Johnston for his efforts, they also want the end result to be permanent housing.
