The proposed micro-community near Birch Street and Arkansas Avenue is a no-go. The city of Denver says it was due to economic viability and community feedback. Residents let their voices be heard once again with concerns of crime and lower property values. The site sits empty surrounded by fencing. Its owner communicated to neighbors they would only lease the property to the city if residents supported the proposed micro-community of 30- 40 tiny homes for the homeless.
The remaining list of proposed micro-community and hotel sites includes:
1498 N. Irving St. for a micro-community
950 W. Alameda Ave. for a micro-community
2301 S. Santa Fe Dr. for a micro-community
4595 N. Quebec St. for hotel
12033 E. 38th. Ave. for a hotel and micro-community combo
