Miami Beach City Commission voted 4-3 to officially adopt an ordinance that will allow police to arrest homeless people if they refuse to go to a shelter. Miami Beach Commissioner Steven Meiner began proposing a bill back in August to arrest homeless people if they refuse to go to a shelter. The bill took its first steps toward success in September with a similar vote of confidence as we’ve seen today. The new ordinance will take effect in ten days.
