St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones and three other Aldermen have shown strong opposition to a revised version of the “Homeless Bill of Rights” proposed by Alderwoman Alisha Sonnier and Aldermanic President Megan Green.  City officials noted that the bill put forward would make it too easy to open shelters anywhere in the city and would make it difficult to sweep encampments as seen in other cities across the country.  Sonnier and Green did drop the provision exempting homeless people from public urination laws, but it was not enough to gain support.
