The city of Denver decided to extend its homeless emergency declaration until Oct. 16. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and his team say they need more time to sort out a list of 11 proposed homeless sites that would set up micro-communities for the homeless. Some sites are making progress while others are stalled. Many residents near the proposed sites have voiced their concerns over things like traffic, safety, crime, and drug use that are often associated with homeless encampments.
