A low-barrier, 150-bed shelter is getting ready to open this Tuesday. Anchorage Housing and Homeless Coordinator Alexis Johnson said many of the beds are already spoken for by people who are on a waiting list. The shelter will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week through April, and will provide three meals a day. 10 to 15 dogs will also be allowed to stay.
