New Oceanside homeless shelter cost more than triple it’s original $2.2 million estimate.

With opening day approaching, Oceanside will open it’s first homeless shelter.  Originally estimated at $2.2 million, costs have risen to $7.6 million.  Cost rose once the city began thinking about the long term uses of the property.   The city is covering the rehad cost of the property and the San Diego Rescue Mission will cover the operating cost.
