When there is no place to get out of the heat, the homeless in Augusta head to the city’s cooling centers. Salvation Army’s Center of Hope is a good place to keep cool, but doesn’t open until 4pm. Compass for Hope give out bottled water once a week to the homeless but funding is running low.
